About

As it evolves, 3D printing technology is destined to transform almost every major industry and change the way we live, work, and play in the future.

3D Printing - Training Course

( all the information in this discussion has been taken from articles on the web and the sources are available on request)

The worldwide 3D printing industry is expected to grow from $3.07B in revenue in 2013 to $12.8B by 2018, and exceed $21B in worldwide revenue by 2020.

As it evolves, 3D printing technology is destined to transform almost every major industry and change the way we live, work, and play in the future.

This hands-on training course will guide you through every step, from designing a part with Solidworks,Autocad,or Sketchup to printing on a Makerbot 3D printer.

Interfacing with Solidworks, Autocad, Mastercam and Sketchup files to create STL files that can be modified in Replicator G and using Python the entire process will be performed as part of the training with copies of all free programs included as part of the course materials.

You will go home with a flash drive that you can use immediately to transform you CAD files to printable STL files.

The programs you will be using in this workshop are compatable with a large number of 3d printers. If you are involved in creating designs in anyone of these major CAD generating programs you will able to take the files you generate and create a 3d printed version in this workshop

Three-dimensional printing makes it as cheap to create single items as it is to produce thousands and thus undermines economies of scale. It may have as profound an impact on the world as the coming of the factory did....Just as nobody could have predicted the impact of the steam engine in 1750—or theprinting press in 1450, or the transistor in 1950—it is impossible to foresee the long-term impact of 3D printing. But the technology is coming, and it is likely to disrupt every field it touches.
